I am passionate about the science of human behavior and connecting with others to offer support, understanding and, maybe, a new perspective.

I use a relational neuroscience approach to guide adults, many of whom serve in care-giver roles, professionally or personally to find lasting relief by identifying patterns of discomfort matched up with no-longer-effective coping strategies. While some of my clients have experienced identified traumatic events, many would describe their life and childhood as "perfect" in most ways but continue to experience symptoms of anxiety or depression.

Through a passion for research and my own personal experiences I have found that new information can help transform our perspective to allow us the ability to create understanding, self-acceptance and change when needed.

After a decade in the social services field, working with individuals with special needs and at-risk youth, I went back to school to pursue a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Drake University. Through educational and professional experiences I have provided therapy services to individuals of all ages for a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, addiction and trauma related stress.

I love working with individuals, one on one, but I also love sharing the attainability of mental wellness with the community. I have served in various volunteer capacities, including as a board member for the Iowa Mental Health Counselors Association, and presented on mental health related topics at local schools and businesses.

Why "Concord?"

With Latin roots meaning "together with heart" and synonymous with "agreement" and "harmony," my goals as a therapist are embodied in a single word. I hope to partner with you to help you find peace in your current struggles, by examining the patterns of your past, to help you create a more balanced future.
